About Rift
Our Passion
To create a beautiful product with a reliable process for quality connections.
Our Core Values
We are reliable
We believe in transparency and doing what we say we’ll do, when we’ll say we’ll do it
We find romance in quality work
We are proud to be carpenters and take pride in our craft.
We have a passion for systems and repeatability
We believe in doing things the most efficient way and repeating that.
We stay sponges
No egos allowed. We constantly pursue growth as individual carpenters and as a company.
We make it happen
We solve problems, we are solution oriented.
We work for the biggest picture
We do the inconvenient thing, for the sake of the overall project, not just today.
Jeremiah Harenza
Owner/Founder
-
Hi, I’m Jeremiah Harenza, founder and owner at Rift Customs. I started this Northwest Arkansas based company in 2017 with a passion for creating beautiful things from wood while also striving to build a culture that allows carpenters to be themselves and enjoy coming to work. I was raised in a DIY family, where a strong foundation in problem solving and life-long learning led us to design, repair, and craft nearly everything ourselves.
-
In high school I was drawn to the trades, but woodworking stood out. Woodworking would remain a steady interest as I tried out a variety of jobs until about a decade ago, when I quickly found a niche in finish carpentry. My love of finish carpentry led to an all-consuming passion to learn everything I could about all aspects of carpentry. This passion and desire to learn led me to start Rift Customs in August of 2017. There’s something deeply satisfying about the final details, the complexity, the problem solving, and making something with my own two hands. Today, that attention to detail drives everything we do at Rift Customs.
-
Building a company takes a lot of work, but I strongly believe that modeling work-life balance promotes a positive work culture. So outside of Rift, I love spending time with my two kids, being outside (especially at the creek), and cooking for friends and family. In my opinion, leisure time is best spent on two wheels in the Ozark’s—be it riding and racing on all types of bicycles or riding motorcycles through the Arkansas landscape!
Our Crew
Trace
Operations Manager
-
Trace started with Rift in 2020 and quickly showed himself as a problem solver with a knack for carpentry. He eventually excelled as a lead carpenter on several high-profile projects, and because of his constant drive for both quality and efficiency — and his ability to solve problems in the field — he stepped into his current role as Operations Manager in 2024. He is our clientele’s point of contact for all things in the field once a project is running. His high energy and sense of urgency have led to his success in this role.
-
Trace (Gator) works hard and plays hard. When he isn’t ensuring our crews’ efficiency, he mostly likes to be outside. After work, you’ll typically find Trace playing disc golf, rock climbing, or riding bikes.
Skyler
Supply Coordinator
-
Skyler came to Rift in early 2023 after a couple years of building furniture and plenty of years cooking in restaurants. He started with us as a carpenter, but because of his immensely helpful nature and foresight he was shoved into his role as Supply Coordinator. Skyler is the manager of all stuff at Rift Customs. He manages our shop space, all material purchasing, tool maintenance, and loads more. Be it keeping drinks and snacks stocked in our shop or ordering speciality materials, Skyler’s attention to detail keeps Rift a smooth running machine.
-
When not at work keeping our crews running smoothly, Skyler (Sky-dawg/The dawg/Mr. Dawg) loves to cook, spend time with his loved ones (dogs included) and playing video games in his very dialed gaming setup (don’t ask unless you have a moment to chat).

The Rift Customs crew is a unique collective to say the least. We celebrate this uniqueness as an important part of our culture. We believe that if we’re spending forty hours a week together that the way we treat each other and communicate is imperative to the success of the work we do together! We bring a high energy, friendly and collaborative nature to every site we step onto. Our team believes that delivering a great project requires every tradesman on site to be focused on the end goal, not just their specific scope!
